Determining the Type of PCard you were Issued
If you look at your new BofA payment card, you will notice that all of the cards say Purchasing along the left-hand side. This is because BofA considers all cards in ºÚÁÏÊÓƵ’s program purchasing cards. This can be confusing as the University has different types of cards with our new program, and the type of card that you have is determined by a list of merchant category codes (MCC) that are prohibited on your card. MCC is a four-digit code that classifies the business by the type of goods or services it provides.
We have identified the type of card that you have by placing a color-coded logo on each of the top right corner of the cards. Below is a list of the different colored logos:

Green Logo – is a travel card. To see the list of MCC codes that are prohibited on this type of card please visit our website at /finance/pcard/mcc. |

Black Logo – is a purchase card, which includes both individual cards and department cards. This type of card can be used for both purchase and travel costs. This type of card has a relatively open list of MCCs and only prohibits specific transactions which are not allowable at the University. |

Dark Blue Logo – is a declining balance card. This type of card is given mainly to undergraduate students and non-employees. It has a set balance on the card, and is cancelled when the funds have been depleted. |
