ºÚÁÏÊÓƵ announces details for FY 2026 salary increases
Recognizing the commitment and contributions of OHIO’s faculty and staff, University leadership has approved Fiscal Year 2026 salary increase guidelines for eligible employees.
FY 2026 salary increase details
Eligibility requirements:
- Employees must have been hired before January 1, 2025.
- Administrative employees who have received a salary increase due to a promotion to a higher pay grade (either through a search or an incumbent review), in-range adjustment, or compression adjustment on or after January 1, 2025, are eligible for the raise pool.
- Post-doc and grant-funded employees must be hired before January 1, 2025, to receive an increase. If increases are prohibited by the grant, the unit is required to find appropriate funding sources, such as research incentive (RI) funds.
- All faculty included in the proposed bargaining unit are not eligible for the above as they remain in a status quo* period during the pending bargaining unit election and prospective negotiation processes. Faculty who are not included in the bargaining unit, including those who will serve as department chairs or school directors in fiscal year 2026, will be eligible for the above. For information about Faculty promotions, please see below.
- AFSCME 3200, AFSCME 1699, FOP Police Officers and FOP Police Lieutenants should refer to the language within their respective collective bargaining agreements related to wages.
The basis for the raise pool distribution will be as follows:
- Colleges and Planning Units have been instructed to allocate a raise pool not to exceed 2.0% for all eligible employees. An increase of 1.5% will be across the board for eligible employees. Colleges and Planning Units must use the remaining 0.5% for a Dean/Vice President/Vice Provosts’ discretionary pool to address merit. The maximum total salary increase per individual may not exceed 3.0%. Specific unit guidelines for the distribution of merit increases should be communicated within each planning unit.
- Merit increases are to be based on the quality of an individual's performance as evidenced by their most recent performance evaluations that cover January through December 2024.
Other items:
- OHIO will not increase the cost of health plan premiums for employees in fiscal year 2026 (AFSCME 1699 members should refer to their bargaining agreement).
- Faculty promotions for all faculty members achieving promotional appointments, regardless of bargaining unit status, will continue to have a corresponding pay increase:
- Promotion to Associate Professor: $7,000
- Promotion to Professor: $10,000
- Promotion to Associate Professor of Instruction: $5,000
- Promotion to Professor of Instruction: $7,000
- Promotion to Associate Clinical Professor: $5,000
