Name a Squirrel for Giving Day

As an annual Giving Day tactic, donors were given the opportunity to (symbolically) name a College Green squirrel. For a gift of $18.04 (in honor of OHIO's founding in 1804) or more to The Fund for OHIO, donors received a custom squirrel certificate featuring the name of their choice. Creative and humorous email copywriting and social media tactics contributed to the success of the campaign. Between Giving Days in 2023, 2024, and 2025, thousands of donors donated at least $18.04 and named a squirrel – helping to achieve University fundraising records.
