*Please note, the 2026-2027 FAFSA is based on 2024 tax information. If you are completing verification for the 2025-2026 year, you need to request 2023 tax information.
2024 Tax Return Transcript Request for Tax Filers
Student/parents requested to submit their 2024 Tax Return Transcript can acquire the information through one or more of the following options. DO NOT request the Tax Account Transcript. This will not be accepted. If both students and parents are selected, each will provide the 2024 Tax Return Transcript separately.
- Students/parents are required to approve of the transfer of 2024 federal tax information directly into the FAFSA application. If the FAFSA is unable to locate or utilize your IRS data, you may be required to directly report your tax information. You may also be required to submit copies of your 2024 tax documents and/or tax transcripts to the Office of Student Financial Aid and Scholarships.
- Online Tax Return Transcript Request: Visit and select . Then select either to get your transcript online or .
- Phone Request: Students/parents can call 1-800-908-9946 to request a transcript be sent by mail.
- Paper Request: Students/parents who had an address change after filing 2024 taxes, can make a request in writing by completing the federal 4506-T form located at . This method is best for individuals who have changed their address since filing taxes.
2024 Verification of Non-Filing Letter or Wage and Income Transcript
- Online Wage and Income Transcript Request: Visit and select . Then select either to get your transcript online or . You CANNOT USE the Get transcript by mail option to request a Non-Filing letter. If you are unable to use the online method, you must submit a paper request.
- Paper Request: Students/parents who had an address change after filing 2024 taxes or who are unable to use Get transcript online, must make a request in writing by completing the 4506-T form located at . This method is best for individuals who have changed their address since filing taxes and the only option besides the online request process.
2024 Record of Account Transcript for Individuals Who Filed an Amended 2024 Return
If you or your parent filed an amended tax return, you will need to provide documents from either option one or two below:
- Individuals who filed a 2024 federal amended return will need to obtain a 2024 Record of Account Transcript from the IRS by the Online Transcript Request method outlined above, OR
- Individuals who have recently filed a 2024 federal amended return will be required to obtain a 2024 Tax Return Transcript by one of the methods above AND submit a signed/dated copy of the 2024 1040X which was recently submitted to the IRS. Be advised the Record of Account Transcript is only available with the online option.
Victims of Identity Theft
Any individual who is a victim of tax related identity theft, must work with the IRS Identity Protection Specialized Unit (IPSU) at 1-800-908-4490 or to provide all of the following documents:
- Copy of signed 2024 tax return and applicable schedules and:
- IRS 4674C letter (letter from IRS acknowledging identity theft), OR
- Signed and dated statement from tax filer indicating they are victim of IRS tax-related identity theft and IRS has been made aware of it.
