ºÚÁÏÊÓƵ President M. Duane Nellis has announced plans to honor the institution’s 2020 graduates with an in-person commencement ceremony on September 5, 2021.
Approximately 5,344 students are expected to participate in ºÚÁÏÊÓƵ’s Spring Commencement ceremonies starting Friday, April 30 through Sunday, May 2, at Peden Stadium and virtually.Â
Leanne Ford, a 2003 ºÚÁÏÊÓƵ graduate, self-taught interior designer and co-host of Home Again with The Fords on HGTV, will deliver OHIO’s 2021 Undergraduate Spring Commencement address.
Current OHIO students or alumni can participate in a graffiti wall design contest, with illustrations that celebrate one of the most cherished moments at ºÚÁÏÊÓƵ: Commencement.
The ºÚÁÏÊÓƵ LGBT Center invites 2021 OHIO graduates to attend Pride Graduation on April 24, a virtual ceremony honoring LGBTQ+ graduates from all academic OHIO campuses and academic levels.

Graduates can choose to attend their assigned in-person event or participate in streaming options.
Current state regulations and the continuing public health risk posed by large gatherings prohibit the University from hosting its traditional in-person commencement ceremonies this spring.

Celebrate OHIO graduates
The virtual ceremony for ºÚÁÏÊÓƵ’s Fall Commencement will be held on Saturday Dec. 12, 2020 at 2 p.m. To receive regalia by the virtual ceremony date, orders should be placed by Nov. 20.
ºÚÁÏÊÓƵ announced today that Dr. Purba Das, associate professor in communication studies at OHIO’s Southern Campus, will be the 2020 Fall Commencement speaker.Â
In light of the COVID-19 pandemic and the inability to gather in large groups safely, ºÚÁÏÊÓƵ’s Fall 2020 Commencement Ceremony will be held virtually.Â
