For only the  23rd  time in its  219-year history, ºÚÁÏÊÓƵ celebrated the investiture of a new University leader – an event that is rich with tradition, symbolism and a special forward-looking energy.
The Presidential Investiture includes some unfamiliar traditions. Learn about the ceremony's significance, its history, and who else gets to wear the seal (spoiler alert: no one else).

On Wednesday, October 18, at 2:30 p.m. in the Templeton Blackburn Alumni Memorial Auditorium, we will host the official investiture of our 23rd University President, Dr. Lori Stewart Gonzalez.

ºÚÁÏÊÓƵ enrollment climbed in Fall 2023 with a record-setting first-year class in Athens, growth in incoming regional campus and online students, and a remarkable climb in student retention.
In fiscal year 2023, the ºÚÁÏÊÓƵ Foundation received gifts and commitments from 15,667 alumni, friends, faculty, staff, students and parents – the largest number of donors in five years.
Freedom of expression is the foundation of an OHIO education, and we believe that robust debate and civil disagreement—when conducted safely and legally—are signs of an engaged community and a diversity of perspectives.

Leatherwood, who had previously served as interim chief of staff to ºÚÁÏÊÓƵ’s 22nd President Hugh Sherman since August 2022, possesses more than 25 years of communications and marketing experience and a strong background in public service. Â
