Nutrition Science – Pre-Medicine
ºÚÁÏÊÓÆµâ€™s Nutrition Science – Pre-Medicine major prepares students for medical school and other professional healthcare programs through a rigorous, science-focused curriculum. Students explore the relationships between nutrition, biochemistry, and human health while gaining the foundational knowledge required for admission to medical, dental, optometry, and pharmacy schools.
Hands-on coursework in anatomy, physiology, and clinical nutrition helps students develop the assessment and critical-thinking skills essential for success in advanced healthcare studies.
OHIO also offers a Nutrition Science – Pre-Physician Assistant major for students pursuing graduate study in physician assistant practice.
Students interested in becoming a Registered Dietitian should explore the Applied Nutrition: Dietetics Track.

Curriculum
The Nutrition Science – Pre-Medicine curriculum combines advanced science courses with applied nutrition study to build a strong foundation for medical and professional health programs. Students complete coursework in biology, chemistry, physics, anatomy, physiology, and biochemistry, alongside specialized nutrition courses that explore metabolism, medical nutrition therapy, and clinical assessment. This science-intensive pathway prepares students for the academic rigor of medical school and other graduate healthcare programs.
