My committee members are not showing up in the drop down menus of Milestone Six, therefore I cannot submit. What do I do?
Contact Nathan Blackburn at blackburnn@ohio.edu with the name and OU email of the committee member, as well as what role they serve on your committee (chair, dean's rep, committee member) and what their home college is (College of Arts & Sciences, HCOM, etc).
I'm being told that I need a free trial to do the milestones. What do I do?
Click "start a free trial." There is an ongoing issue that OIT is working on fixing that shows some doctoral students that they need to start a free trial to access Power Apps, the Microsoft platform the milestone tracking project is housed on. This free trial will expire on its own and will NOT charge you any amount of money at any time.
If you do not feel comfortable starting a free trial, contact Nathan Blackburn at blackburnn@ohio.edu and he will keep you updated on the solution.
My committee chair is not available to be selected as chair. However, I can select them as a committee member. What do I do?
Contact Nathan Blackburn directly at blackburnn@ohio.edu for more information with the name of your committee chair.
I get an email after I submit, telling me one of my committee members is inactive. What do I do?
Contact Nathan Blackburn at blackburnn@ohio.edu with the name and email of the committee member.
What is a Dean's Representative?
The Dean's Representative is the person on your committee who is outside of your college (so, if you are a Patton student, someone from the College of Arts and Sciences, vice versa). This is sometimes referred to as an "outside member."
What is Power Apps?
Microsoft Power Apps is a low-code platform within the Microsoft Power Platform that lets users build custom business applications quickly using visual tools like drag-and-drop, formulas (like Excel), and pre-built templates, without needing extensive coding skills.
It CANNOT access information such as student grades.
