About Group Fitness Classes

  • ºÚÁÏÊÓÆµ's Group Fitness classes are free and available to students enrolled in classes on the Athens Campus and Ping Center members.
  • Register for our Group Fitness classes via or the registration links below!
  • Registration period opens 23 hours prior to the class start time.

Class Descriptions

Boxing: This is a high energy class that teaches the fundamentals of basic punches and combinations featuring jabs, crosses, hooks, and uppercuts. Boxing not only increases your strength and burns your core, it also helps improve your cardiovascular fitness. Boxing gloves are required and will be provided. No experience necessary and all are welcome!
Cardio Dance: This is an upbeat, dance-based workout designed to burn calories, improve coordination, boost your mood, and increase your overall cardiovascular health. Incorporates fun and easy dance moves while also increasing your heart rate. No experience necessary. All fitness levels welcome!
Cardio Sculpt: This is a high intensity interval (HIIT) style class that combines cardio dance and strength training. You’ll alternate between cardio and strength routines. Guaranteed to work up a sweat and target all muscle groups. No experience necessary, all are welcome!
Cycle: This is a high energy and FUN class that targets building cardiovascular endurance and lower body as well as core strength. Classes vary depending on the instructor but can include flat roads, hill climbs, sprints, and upper body movements choreographed to the music. Come for the workout and stay for the playlist! No experience is necessary and all fitness levels are welcome!
Pilates: This class is a low impact, strength-based workout that uses controlled movements and focused breathing to target the entire body. A focus on core strength, posture, and alignment helps to build strength, flexibility, and an overall mind-body connection. We will often incorporate simple props such as light weights, rings, bands, and blocks. Mats provided. All fitness levels welcome!
Yoga: Yoga is an ancient practice that helps create a sense of union in the body, mind, and spirit. Key components include:

  1. Physical postures that feature a variety of body movements that build strength, flexibility, and balance
  2. Breathing techniques that feature controlled breathing exercises designed to improve focus and relaxation
  3. Meditation and relaxation practices focused on quieting the mind, improving concentration, and reducing stress.

Mats and blocks are provided. All fitness levels welcome!
