ºÚÁÏÊÓƵ Learning Network for Regional Higher Education

The ºÚÁÏÊÓƵ Learning Network (OULN) is a network of videoconferencing classrooms across the Athens campus, regional campuses, and several partner high schools. These classrooms enable high-quality, real-time interaction between participants in multiple locations.

OULN Features

  • Dedicated classrooms equipped with multiple cameras and microphones for full participation.
  • Easy to use — no technical expertise required. OULN staff can assist with equipment during sessions.
  • Remote access to meetings is available through a dedicated meeting link.

Training

Group training on the OULN system is offered at least once per year on every OHIO campus. Individual or recorded sessions may also be available. Instructors are strongly encouraged to complete training before teaching on OULN.

Testing & Proctoring

Instructors are expected to proctor their own exams during class time via OULN. For formal proctoring needs, email rhe-oulnsupport@ohio.edu. Makeup exams can be arranged through campus testing centers.

Class Recordings

Courses held over the OULN system may be recorded by request and stored on the OHIO Panopto server. Recording requests must be submitted to rhe-oulnsupport@ohio.edu before the semester begins.

Submitting Class Materials

Class materials that need copied and distributed to students need to be emailed to all OULN campus contacts for the class locations. Class materials should be submitted for duplication at least 48 hours in advance. Preferred file formats are Microsoft Word or Adobe PDF.

Each request should include:

  • Course name
  • Day and time materials should be distributed
  • Number of copies needed
  • Copy instructions (e.g., single- or double-sided)

Materials being returned to the instructors will be scanned and emailed to them.

Class Cancellations & Schedule Changes

If you need to cancel or reschedule an OULN class:

  1. Follow your home campus cancellation procedures.
  2. Notify your students directly.
  3. Email rhe-oulnsupport@ohio.edu
